Fun Facts About Hanukkah:

  • Today marks the first candle lit for the Jewish holiday.
  • Hanukkah means dedication.
  • The Macabee Jewish people fought to reclaim their church.
  • Inside of the church was their Hanukkah Menorah candelabra that has 9 candles.
  • For each night they only had enough oil to light up only one candle over the span of 8 nights.
  • The middle candle is called the Shamash and is used to light up the others.
