Historical Facts on this holiday:
Native American Day is also known as Indigenous day, remembering that our land was first owned by the North American Native Indian Tribes. Known as a controversial topic as to how the Europeans who migrated to this land obtained ownership of it, it bloodstained dark history wasn't exactly a trade-off for the benefit to the Native Americans. On this day as of the year 1990 when George W. Bush made it an official holiday, we recognize their history and contributions to the United States. In 2009, Barack Obama finalized the month of November to be National Native American Heritage Month.
